Under the cover of Friday night darkness, Dow Jones says a
computer data breach has occurred where the credit and debit card information
of 3500 individuals are hacked. The breach occurred over the last three years.
Companies are now routinely releasing cybersecurity news on Friday nights when
no one is paying attention in the hope that the damage to the business reputation
will be minimal. Dow Jones is the publisher of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Twitter leaks information to media outlet Re/Code concerning
company-wide layoffs planned for next week. TWTR drops -0.8% in afterhours
trading. Is Twitter truly a growth company if it is axing employees? Ferrari
files for IPO that may value the company at $10 billion.
Google has restored some service on the file-sharing
platforms but many users remain offline in an outage. GOOGL says that services
should be restored this evening.
