International investigators are prohibited from beginning an investigation into the Malaysian Flight MH17 airplane crash in Ukraine. The pro-Russian separatists are firing warning shots in the air at investigators. The separatists comb through the wreckage likely removing any remnants of the Russian BUK missile before access is permitted. Tragically, bodies are left laying in fields only covered by plastic or a blanket. The sickening smell of burning debris and rotting human flesh rises from the 10-mile debris field. Adding insult to the innocent victims’ families, credit cards looted from passenger bags and bodies are used to purchase goods. About 100 of the passengers were AIDS scientists and researchers.

Iran sweet talks its way to a four-month extension on negotiations to eliminate or reduce its ongoing nuclear program. The US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China agree to the extension of talks. If Iran stretches things out a bit further, they will have the nuclear bomb.

Hamas continues to fire 100 rockets into Israel each day as Israel pushes further into Gaza destroying tunnels. 300 Palestinians are now dead from the conflict in day 12. The Israel-Hamas war is escalating and starting to spin out of control. Deaths are occurring by the hour with Israeli soldiers now taking casualties.

Wildfires rage on the West Coast in Washington with entire towns evacuated to escape the firestorm. California is in serious drought conditions with water rationing occurring across the southwestern US.

The chikungunya virus transmitted by mosquitoes to humans is spreading in Florida as health experts feared. The virus is at epidemic levels in Puerto Rico and now showing up in Jamaica. Chikungunya spreads from Africa in the 1950’s and causes serious pain in the joints and body. The virus is debilitating but rarely fatal. A man’s dog dies one week ago in Colorado from pneumonic plague infecting four humans including the pet owner which remains hospitalized. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment believes the plague to be contained and not a worry for the general public.
