SATURDAY 7/5/14; US Takes Lead in World Oil Production

China’s President Xi reaches a currency agreement with South Korea which continues to expand the use of the yuan (renminbi) internationally. The countries agree to boost efforts concerning the direct trading of the Chinese Yuan and Korean Won. The US Dollar’s global reserve currency status (commodities such as oil are traded in US Dollars) continues to be slowly and methodically challenged by the Chinese Yuan as the years move forward.

Argentina is entering debt talks with only three weeks remaining in the 30-day grace period. The debt-laden nation accuses the US courts of favoring the hedge funds that won the case. Argentina needs to settle the dispute and compromise on new terms quickly or the country will be in default and fall into more economic and social turmoil than already exists.

A TSLA Model S is stolen in California and after a high-speed chase in excess of 100 MPH (161 KPH) the Tesla crashes into a light pole and shears completely in half. The front half of the Tesla erupts into flames and the back half is wedged between two buildings. No one is killed but the injuries are serious. Any vehicle crash of this magnitude would result in a fiery end but TSLA may not trade happily next week as the video of the burning front-half of the Tesla is played on the Internet over and over.
