Aussie and Asia indexes begin trading on the negative side. NIKK -0.5%. Topix -0.5%. ASX 200 -0.4%. Oil companies are weak. Woodside Petro -1.6%. Santos -2.7%. Rio Tinto gains +1.1% on news of canning two top executives due to a payola scheme. KOSPI trades marginally higher after a delayed open. Traffic jams are occurring due to national college entrance exams.

Japan PM Abe is at Trump Tower in New York City meeting with President-elect Trump. Abe miscalculated one month ago when he was in the States and visited Hillary Clinton ignoring Trump since he believed the polls that predicted an easy Clinton win. This minute, he shows up at Trump’s residence hat in hand wanting to build a relationship with the president-elect.
